section of the province.
Our personal experience
When it comes to university recruiting, we both understand first
hand exactly what is involved.
A number of years ago, we were approached by CPOA to enroll
our daughter Carrie into the CPOA service. Carri was a nationally ranked
sprinter (400 m) and had already some national and international
experience under her belt.
Like the majority of parents, we felt that Carri's successes on
the track would almost guarantee her a scholarship.
We decided that CPOA was not necessary and that we could do the
job just as well and save the CPOA fee.
Little did we realize the amount of work required to make her
dream come true. After six months of sending out letters and film, we
received about 20 responses and none were what we expected.
We then made the decision to get the local office of CPOA
involved and Carri's CPOA profile was quickly mailed to about 500
college track coaches throughout North America.
The response was overwhelming!
CPOA answered all of our questions and gave us the proper
guidance throughout the entire recruiting process.
Carri eventually signed with the University of Notre Dame, with
an NCAA D-I track program. She received a 'full' scholarship.
Carri graduated from Notre Dame with a
degree in Business Administration and she and her husband now live in Atlanta, Georgia.
After learning the hard way, we decided immediately to enroll our
son with CPOA. Kevin, played football at Drake University, an NCAA
Division I school on a full scholarship.
We truly believe that College Prospects of America is a valuable
service and a definite asset to any student-athlete.
